The Journey
I grew up in Tyler, Texas, where my passion for stage combat began early. At age 12, I started training under Chris and Alison Chadwick, who introduced me to the art of fighting for the stage. Through multiple classes which included intermediate and advanced classes, as well as assorted weapons, I gained experience with a wide range of medieval weapons including short sword, long sword, staff, spear, mace, axe, dagger, and shield—each teaching me unique techniques for movement, timing, and storytelling.
When I was 18, I began helping teach Beginner and Assorted Weapons classes. This gave me the chance not only to sharpen my own skills but also to learn how to share them with others. Along the way, I performed in multiple stage productions featuring combat and took part in demonstrations for audiences at libraries, community events, and festivals. These opportunities allowed me to combine performance with education, showing people how exciting and safe stage combat can be.
In the most recent years, I’ve expanded my work through Steel Warrior Films, a YouTube channel dedicated to cinematic swordplay. There, I’ve worn many hats—as an actor and fighter, as well as behind the camera as a director, videographer, and editor. Whether I’m teaching a class, performing in a play, or producing film content, my goal is always the same: to bring the thrill of stage combat to life in a way that inspires, entertains, and empowers others to step into the art of safe, skilled swordplay.
